On Thursday eve, I went to an event called Busking for Change at The Imperial Hotel’s Roller Den. It’s a charity gig held every year by Josh Pyke to raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Patrick James, Urthboy and Josh Pyke played on the night, with artworks thrown in by a bunch of the people who had designed Pyke’s album covers.

Not many people were there, (possibly because Pyke hasn’t released anything in ages?) but it had a super intimate vibe and Urthboy/Pyke did their first live show of the collaboration Someone Else’s House

Someone in the crowd promised an extra $50 for Pyke’s cover of ‘Endless Summer’, and he wrote down the lyrics and everyone joined in. Then when it came to doing his hit 'Middle of the Hill’, he invited everyone on stage, and a good half the audience casually jumped up. Twas fun indeed.
