I find that some of the best experiences are unexpected.  That’s why concerts or live sets seem to be one of my favorite things.  An artist can change up a classic, special guests can come out of nowhere to shock a crowd, or anything else under the sun could happen.  So when I was casually scrolling through my Twitter feed + saw that Soulection’s Lakim was playing a set at The Sound Table, I knew I had to check it out.  I’ve been jealous as Soulection is based in LA + the closest I’ve come to a live set is listening to cuts from the roster’s Soundcloud page that I instantly then share with all of my friends.

Soulection should be on everyone’s radar as a unit that’s completely fresh yet nostalgic, connecting people to real talent that combines genres such as R+B, electronic, soul, hip-hop, old school sounds + everything in between.  Needless to say, Soulection reaches a wide array of folks + many packed into the intimate venue to dance until the early morning to the sounds of (LALALA)Lakim, DJ Jamad, Xavier BLK, + Ira IV.  Hopefully, Lakim will tell the rest of the homies in Soulection to come over to the East Coast (or just Atlanta) soon.
