It’s Melissa’s last weekend in the City of Pittsburgh and it’s definitely decided she will be moving out here in August after a long awaited adventure to South East Asia.  Don’t worry, we will be sure to make her blog about her travels.

Unblurred, a gallery walk in Oakland on the Penn Avenue Arts District starts at 7 pm. We are excited to see what Assemble has had up their sleeve.
 
The Warhol Museum has half off Fridays and a cash bar from 5pm -10pm. There’s a great show we’ve been wanting to see named, “About Faces”.  New York Photographer, Arne Svenson just finished his residency at Pittsburgh Welsley Spectrum Highland. The show ends May 13th, be sure to put that on your radar.
 
On Saturday, we will busy writing a business plan but you should check out these shows if you’re looking for something to do:
 
The Carnegie Museum of Art has Henri Matisse’s work “The Thousand and One Nights” on display. It comes down on May 7th. When one of the greatest artist of all time has work come to your city, our motto is “Be there, or be square.”
 
They also have several rooms full of installations by the great Maya Lin – if you recognize her name it is because she is the creator behind the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC.  This is a blockbuster, must-see show!  The way she transforms simple, unassuming materials into extraordinary sculptures is a true art and gift.  The show is only up until the 13th of this month.
