This is one of my favourite outfits at the moment. I wore it to visit the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations Exhibition at the Met. It was the whole reason for my trip to NY. I did my undergraduate thesis on Schiaparelli, so it was a huge treat to be able to see her designs in real life. I actually bawled crying just before I went into the room. The excitement and anticipation really got to me!
The exhibition was inspired by Miguel Covarrubias’s “Impossible Interviews” for Vanity Fair in the 1930s. The curators staged a conversation between Prada and Schiaparelli which was based on her autobiography. The designer’s clothes were shown alongside each other and documented their changes and their similarities. It was truly phenomenal, I have never seen anything like it!
Skirt from Gap, top and sandals from Penneys and bag from Beyond Retro.
