A rather annoying phenomenon. My mother assumes I’m heterosexual, and has shut out any thought of me being pansexual or bisexual, despite my telling her so, wondering how I can know, since I’ve never had a girlfriend. Well, I’ve never had a boyfriend, either. I think the idea that heterosexuality is assumed as the default is the reason my parents maintain that I am heterosexual, despite my protests (even when I tried to sort-of come out to my dad recently). I have entirely too many issues that I’m still working on to be in a relationship with anyone at this point, so it may be a moot point right now at least…
