How to discover new music on Tumblr
The popular microblogging platform recruited a team of editors, including the staff of Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Pitchfork, to curate and promote new music and events.
On Tumblr, there are more than 45 curated tags monitored by volunteer editors. These editors can select content to appear on a tag’s front page, giving it increased visibility.
“Before me there wasn’t anyone who could speak to the intricacies of the way the music industry works, and there wasn’t anyone who could police how the tag editing works,” Nate Auerbach, Tumblr’s music guru, told Billboard.
Tumblr has also launched music.tumblr.com to highlight music-related stories and features.
