I tried not to write about snow so much, though this past winter, it did creep in, as it does, inevitably. Specifically because I was working on this fifty states project; I was telling myself I was going to finish what Sufjan Stevens never did. If I’m writing about Michigan or Minnesota in the wintertime, some sort of delicious and electric despair has to creep in there.
