Checkmark 1.1 with Recurring Reminders & Snoozing now available in App Store

We’ve been working hard on adding new features into Checkmark, as well as optimizing the app for iPhone 5 and iOS 6.

We thank everyone for being patient, and we’re happy that today our first big update is finally here!

So what’s new in Checkmark 1.1?

RECURRING REMINDERS (new feature)

You can now set recurring time-based reminders in Checkmark. Recurring reminders show up in their own new section under the “When” tab.

These are great for reminding yourself of things like watering plants, taking out the trash, picking up the kids from school, etc.

SNOOZE REMINDERS (new feature)

We’ve added a new persistent snoozing feature to Checkmark. After you’ve created a new reminder, simply swipe right on it to bring up the snooze options.

Alternatively, once an alert has been triggered you’re presented the option to set a snooze.

You can choose to snooze reminders for either “1 minute” or “1 hour” (or not at all). The reminder will then continue to alert you of an overdue task until you’ve marked it as complete, or turned off the snooze.

Unfortunately we can’t set any finer snooze intervals (like every 5 minutes) due to an iOS system limitation.

ADD FROM MAP (feature enhancement)

We’ve made some big improvements to the “Add from Map” experience when creating new locations in Checkmark:

Users can now drop a pin anywhere they want or pick up an existing pin and re-drop it.

We’ve added Satellite and Hybrid map views (along with the currently available Standard view).

This, coupled with easy location pin moving is very useful when setting up the custom radius for each location, as you can create very precise geo-fences around buildings, plazas, parking lots, etc.

IMPROVED RADIUS CONTROL (feature enhancement)

Users now have greater control over the location radius (geo-fence) for each location they add. We’ve added a new slider UI that allows users to select a radius between 25 metres and 50 kilometres (80 feet and 30 miles).

SUPPORT FOR iOS 6 AND iPHONE 5

Checkmark now fully supports iOS 6 and the new 4-inch display on iPhone 5.

Users can now add 12 locations on their “Where” home screen. The larger screen also lets users see more reminders at once, enter more notes, etc.

If you don’t already have it, you can get Checkmark for just $1.99 in the App Store.

Thanks for all the support everyone!
