Los Angeles-based neuroscientist and college educator Dr. Michele A. Basso earned her Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience from Stony Brook University. She currently directs the Fuster Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at the University of California, Los Angeles. Michele Basso, Ph.D., also participates in the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and serves as an associate editor and ad hoc reviewer for the Society’s The Journal of Neuroscience.

With more than 42,000 members, SfN serves as the largest professional organization in the world for scientists and physicians who study and treat the brain and nervous system. The nonprofit focuses on several global objectives, including a dedication to international collaboration centered on understanding the brain and nervous system better and commitment to providing professional development opportunities and related resources to neuroscientists of all different experience levels.
