It was 95 degrees here today so I decided to go down to the pool. There, I was fortunate enough to have a front row seat to a Brazilian swimming lesson. It was really, really interesting (not sure if that’s the right word). The instructor would pick up this three-year-old boy by his speedo and hurl him five feet across the pool 10 times in a row and then dunk him under water while the child’s father watched from the comfort of a lawn chair. Interesting tactic when teaching a three-year old how to swim. The “instructor” and the father acted surprised when the kid started balling his eyes out. He didn’t stop screaming until they let him get out of the pool. Game over. Maybe that’s how they do it in Brazil. I have no clue. I guess you have to learn at some point. Sink or swim.
