On Sunday afternoon newcomer Haley Laundrie (pronounced Lon-dray) won Miss Wisconsin USA 2015 and Kenna Mia Harke, last year’s 1st runner-up, won the Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2015 title!   Haley is 21 and from Lake Mills, the same town as Miss WI Teen USA 2014 Patience Vallier.  Kenna Mia is 16 and from Greenville, near Appleton (if you’re a geography geek like me you might like this map which has the hometowns of the titleholders since 2005!).  Click Haley & Kenna Mia’s names above to view their titleholder profiles, or head to my Facebook page for continuing coverage.

For the first time the pageant was webcast and it was great to see the high level of competition in Wisconsin.  The top five were all super competitive and all were highly deserving of that crown.  I think Haley should be particuarly applauded for beating out so many experienced contestants!  First runner-up Heidi Golznig was 2nd runner-up in the 2012 pageant and first runner-up in Teen in 2009.  Second runner-up Carolyn Cianciolo repeated her placement from last year, and has also been a runner-up & semi-finalist in Missouri.  Third runner-up Jenny White finally made the top 5 in her last year competing; she was a semi-finalist the last two years.  Congrats Jenny!   Fourth runner-up Victoria Sorone Johnston was first runner-up last year, fourth runner-up in 2013 and Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2011.

In the Teen division, the top five was an almost all-blonde competition!  Kenna Mia is the first returning 1RU to win the following year since 1999!  Her first runner-up McKenna Collins and second runner-up Brittany Georgia were competing for the first time.  Third runner-up Alexis Preibe was a non-finalist last year and fourth runner-up Grace Mackey-Natz, the only brunette in the top five, was also a newcomer.

A portion of the People’s Choice award revenue this year was dedicated to a fund for Melissa Consin Young, Miss Wisconsin USA 2005, and her six-year-old son Jack.  Melissa is gravely ill after medical misadventure during her pregnancy and has been fighting valiantly for the past six years but is sadly now in hospice care.  Miss USA 2005 Chelsea Cooley has been an inspirational support to Melissa and her family in recent months and set up a fund for Jack’s future.  In one of the most touching moments of the pageant she and Melissa surprised everyone by making it to the finals - Melissa is a close friend of outgoing Miss Wisconsin USA Bishara Dorre and was determined to see Bishara take her final walk!  This titleholder reunion photo for 2015 will be treasured by all in the Future Productions and Wisconsin pageant community I’m sure.
