Stopped by the now mostly abandoned Ellinikon International Airport (LGAT) today on the way to the beach. It was replaced by Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH; formerly the code for Ellinikon as well) in 2001. A driving school now inhabits the airport, although the Athens radar center is still based there. I enjoyed the Olympic Airways statue of a traveler boarding on airstairs and the signs with prices still in drachmas.

Airplanes? Yeah, I like em. ✈

The Boeing 747 is an icon for me. I have been fascinated by it ever since I acquired my first library card and was able to read about the "Queen of the Skies"

A little side note: Obviously the photos I post are not entirely mine. I post them because I enjoy them. Proper credit always goes to the photographer/source. If you have a problem with that, simply let me know, and I will remove it.
