#12: “Trepak” (Joshua/tWitch trepak), Top 4
This routine could have been the silliest thing we saw in the whole season, but in the hands of Joshua and tWitch, it’s one of the most iconic routines of the entire series. That happened a lot in season 4. Too bad it couldn’t turn out that way with the Russian folk in season 5. @_@
But dude, I remember totally freaking out when I saw this live. I don’t even know how half of this happened. Those leaps and spins that Josh did were ridiculous. How does one even jump that high? He goes 9000 feet in the air. Then tWitch and all that floorwork despite him being 8 feet tall. I didn’t even care that there were entire sections where one of them was just standing there and watching the other dance because it was just sold so well.
I will also never forget Nigel saying that the only reason they were good at this is because this is Russian street dancing. 1) that’s not even true and 2) what makes him think that being a hip-hop dancer gives you the skills to do Russian dancing??? All those turns and leans that Josh did and all that floorwork that tWitch did aren’t even in hip-hop! There was nothing close to hip-hop in this routine! WTF! I think I’ll be offended on their behalf for the rest of my life.
But this routine is amazing and one of my favorites of all time.
