Wordscapes: publishing; copywriting; editing

Need to create things to do with words?

My name is Fiona Shaw, and words are my thing – whether they appear in books, web copy, marketing materials or iPhone apps. I've been a journalist, copywriter, editor and publisher at various times. And sometimes all at the same time. Now my business, Wordscapes, provides a range of publishing, editing, copy writing, proofreading, and SEO (search engine optimisation) skills. And we win awards for them, too.

So, whether you're interested in publishing a book, proofreading, editing or need a bit of help getting your message across, we'll help you find the right words.

The giants take over Liverpool: three giant marionettes – a girl, her Aztec dog Xo'lo and her uncle – took over the streets of Liverpool this weekend for the Giant Spectacular Sea Odyssey, as an estimated 600,000 people came out to watch. The story began in North Liverpool’s Stanley park on Friday morning, as the little girl awoke; her uncle emerged from Salthouse Dock in his diving suit later that day, as they roamed the city in search of each other. French street theatre specialists ROYAL DE LUXE brought the production to Liverpool as part of the city’s events, commemorating 100 years since the sinking of the Titanic. The ship was registered in Liverpool to the White Star Line; many Scousers were amongst the 1,517 who died, predominantly on-board as crew members. The spectacular three-day event was expected to generate £12 million for the local economy. Our friends and collaborators at a sense of place made a short film of the giants in action, which you can see here.
