Illustrator Off to a Scintillating Start

Felidae won top honors in this year’s Society of Illustrators New York competition, the second year that JooHee’s work has stood out with SOI judges.

Über-talented illustrator JooHee Yoon 11 IL is returning to RISD on Wednesday (the 4th) to talk to students as part of the Asian Cultural Association’s Heritage Week events.

Since graduating last spring, JooHee has been getting a lot of commissions, including this recent piece on teacher evaluations for The New York Times.

In addition to standing out in the 2011 and 2012 SOI New York competitions, JooHee won a bronze award in the 2012 SOI West competition for this piece, Landlady. And watch for a new illustration she’s doing for the spring issue of RISD XYZ, due out at the beginning of May.
