New studio work by almost 200 of the extraordinary artists and designers who teach at RISD will be featured at the RISD Museum from February 22 through March 17. The 2013 RISD Faculty Biennial opens with a reception in the Chace Center lobby from 6–8 pm on Thursday, February 21.

A longstanding RISD tradition, the show offers an opportunity for the RISD community and the larger public to appreciate the wide range of ideas, approaches and wonderful examples of making emanating from both full- and part-time faculty members working in almost every medium imaginable (the images above are just the tip of the iceberg, but if you click on them you can see who did what).

As in the past, many faculty artists and designers have created work specifically for the biennial, and there are also a number of collaborative projects being shown this year.
