Anna Maria Chavez will be named the 19th leader and first Hispanic CEO of Girl Scouts of America, when the organization meets next week in Houston.  Chavez is a first generation Mexican-American and former aide to Gov. Janet Napolitano in her native Arizona. She was also a Girl Scout, of course.

In her interview with Chron.com, she discusses the importance of talking to girls about issues that are important to them and developing leaders for this country and the world.
