Southern Germany
Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, 30 degrees. As always, awesome atmosphere in the Luke music club. Strolling home I see some Ludwigsburgerians cruising around the railway station with red, black or grey Porsche Carreras. A dozen men, member of a german schlager singer’s fan club, are getting out of their van in front of a hotel, slightly drunk.
After eleven only a doner kebap snack bar remains open. In front of it the nightlife of Ludwigsburg unfolds: the Porsche drivers seen earlier, turkish women with impeccable hair and makeup and two australian travelers. The owner of the doner snack is trying to explain to one of the Australians the difference between „Beck’s Gold“ and real gold, but is English is not sufficient for that purpose. His wife is laughing from the background.
A member of the schlager fans turns up to buy some beer. He’s complaining about the receptionist who confiscated his credit card as she was fearing some rioting. The turkish owner is nodding understandingly. From the castle it chimes midnight.
In the early morning hours a visit to the castle. Ludwigsburg’s always worth a tour stop.
