Our tech is so much more advanced than we are evolved. Most people are not as intelligent as the handful who the handful assumes is ready for this technology. How about we all wait for humanity to stop believing in superstitions and to stop killing each other over arbitrary issues, because of power and greed, before we make ourselves capable of even more terrifying things?
Fruitless and pointless to try to stop progress of course – but which parts of civilization are progressing, and which are stagnant or regressing?
