oh god this moment don’t get me started

#let’s talk about how derek doesn’t have to touch stiles here AT ALL #he has NO REASON to put his hands on stiles’s back and shoulder #unless he wants to communicate something to stiles that he’s not ready to say #maybe he’s trying to say thank you #because he saw how proud stiles was of that barrier #and he knows the last thing stiles wanted to do was destroy the one thing that made him feel worthwhile #but stiles did it anyway and derek appreciates that so much #or maybe this touch is derek telling stiles to stay put #it is a little bit of a push you know #maybe he’s silently saying #no i don’t want you running in there because you’ll get hurt #and that’s why derek sort of pushes stiles backwards #because he doesn’t want stiles to get hurt even if stiles drives him crazy all of the time #or maybe derek is saying #don’t worry stiles i’ve got this #because he just told stiles that scott is DYING #and usually stiles would be freaking out about that #but here stiles seems to read something in derek’s touch and derek’s frenzy #something stops stiles from running into the warehouse after derek #so maybe derek’s making a promise in that touch #a promise that he’ll save scott and that he’ll be back and that they’ll get out of this alive #and the most amazing thing about all of that silent communication? #stiles gets it #he understands whatever it is that derek’s saying to him in that one freaking touch #because stiles DOESN’T run after him #stiles waits even though we know he hates waiting #even though we know he doesn’t want to be robin #stiles listens to derek here #he listens to derek’s silent communication #and he trusts what derek is telling him
