I haven’t really explained why I named my blog ‘Between Your Ears.’ I figure I should take a moment to cue you in on it all, as there are multiple meanings to the name.

First, one of my favorite quotations is the one that appears on the blog, 'happiness is between your ears.’ I truly believe that happiness is a state of mind rather than a particular place for which we are constantly searching. I think that our brain has the power to turn the gloomiest day into a warm, sunny one.

Secondly, the blog is intended to record each of the many things that inspire me each day, and I also hope that these things will inspire you. Inspiration occurs between your ears. It’s when your brain makes an emotional connection with something that you see, something that you hear, or something that you smell. Inspiration is truly magical, and sometimes the smallest things can inspire big changes.

The brain is the most powerful organ in our bodies, and I’m fascinated by how it controls every single facet of our lives. Happiness is between your ears. Inspiration is between your ears. Love is between your ears. Friendship. Wisdom. Hope. Peace. Everything is between our ears. The brain is a funny, fascinating, fickle thing, and I hope that everything you see on this blog moves from between my ears to between yours.
