Boston Calling Day 3 (Sunday) Photos / Review: Nas, The Replacements, Spoon, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots, & More - 9.7.2014
After an interesting Day 2, Day 3 turned out to be a beautiful one and an ideal day for a festival. The music started with local band, Gentlemen Hall, followed by San Fermin (Brooklyn).
White Denim showcased their jaming skills, and Lake Street Dive played a solid set with Rachael Price’s voice shining as usual. I realize I’ve seen them three times this year alone, which definitely isn’t a bad thing.
Twenty One Pilots have gone from playing TT the Bear’s, to the Middle East, Paradise, House of Blues, and now Boston Calling in just two short years. These kids are serious performers, and delivered an incredible and memorable set, that was truly one of the best of the day. The duo from Ohio definitely gained some new fans for sure.
The 1975 played for a very lively younger crowd, and then it was time to transport back in time for The Replacements, Spoon, and Nas. The Replacements were quite a treat, as the band hasn’t played a Boston show since their Orpheum Theatre concert back in 1991 . Nas closed the festival and would later be joined by The Roots.
All in all, another great festival that seems to get slightly better each year. Photos from Day 3 can be seen below - click the “Read More” below the first photo to see them all.
