Tweedy Played the Berklee Performance Center (Boston, MA): Photos, Setlist, Review 9.26.2014
Tweedy is the project of Wilco frontman, Jeff Tweedy, and his 18-year-old son and drummer Spencer Tweedy. Last night they played a two hour show at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston, and the evening essentially consisted of three parts: a set of songs from the new album with a full band, a Jeff Tweedy solo acoustic set, and a two-song encore with the band.
The first half hour of the show was all business, as they busted out tunes from the new album. However, about a half into the show, Jeff Tweedy (who was battling a cold) treated the crowd to some very witty banter, taking playful jabs at his son Spencer, Berklee students, a woman with an infectious laugh, and even a woman in the front row who decided to sing along to “You and I”.
The band sounded great, and all in all, a very entertaining evening. If you want to experience what the show was like, feel free watch the full Tweedy Brooklyn 9/23 BAM show here.
Photos and setlist from the Boston show can be seen below. Hospitality (Brooklyn) opened.
