7) Tweet by Dee Dee, July 17, 2014, from her @dumdumgirls Twitter account consisting only of an apparent cat face made from keystrokes: =^,^=  . It wasn’t her reply to another tweet, or a follow up to a prior tweet of hers, but just a cat face she tweeted out of the blue.

9) Tweet by Dee Dee, July 29, 2014, “every song needs palm mutes,” with a link to an instagram pic (shown below it) of one of her cats with its paws “muting” a guitar’s strings. Below it are Instagram comments re. the cat pic, including three from Dee Dee under her Instagram name “wearedumdumgirls.” The cat in the cat paws pic may be the same as the shoulder kitten in the earlier pic as fur patterns & colours match. A comment by DDGs’ drummer, Sandra Vu, “Johnny rips!,” suggests the cat’s name’s Johnny which tempts one to wonder if, when not muting strings, Johnny “can play a guitar just like ringin’ a bell.” (Johnny B. Goode)! Johnny the cat: evidently a secret, uncredited Dum Dum Girls guitarist - which would be more proof cats are often smarter than one might think! (Dee Dee’s Instagram comments turned out fuzzy & hard to read in the screen captures. They are: “cannot practice like this” ; “oh please I would never fucking declaw. I have many scratches…” ; “this is how I ‘rehearse’ guys…” ; “the rippin and the tearin”)

*(Hey, my own fave cat ever, friendly & smart, who I still have, is all black. Nothing unlucky about her!)

**Further research suggests Dee Dee’s cats may be just a touch unlucky after all… From a Mar. 6, 2014 interview, QUOTE: -{Interviewer}: “That sounds insane [i.e. the upcoming Dum Dum Girls’ tour schedule], but you’ll have time to sleep in 2015.”                                                                                                                  -DEE DEE: “Actually, I’m in L.A. right now and I have really crazy cats in New York so I haven’t really slept well in a year, I’d say. I love them to death, but I think I’ll actually get more sleep on tour.
