Jamie Woon is someone who I’ve been aware of for a while (though I kept getting him confused with James Blake) but only just now started listening to him through a recommendation from a friend (sup ellie! :D), and I have to say thanks for the recommendation. Bringing elements of soul, R&B, trip hop, blues together, Woon has made something exciting.

Spirits is literally built from the ground up. Starting off with a beat boxing drum beat, he layers his vocals to create the rest of the track before coming in with a beautiful soulful voice for the melody. It truly is something special when you can see the progression of a song like this just from one man. Jamie Woon is definitely something special.
