It’s only a matter of time before James Vincent McMorrow gets the kind of attention he fully deserves. He’s right under the surface at the moment, and those who know about him, including ITYLTS, are raving about this man. Comparisons to Bon Iver are no bad thing when you can live up to them like McMorrow can. The origins of his debut album, Early In The Morning, haven’t helped the comparisons to Bon Iver as he recorded it in a remote cottage by the Irish Sea, however the content of the album speaks volumes for McMorrow in his own right. Perhaps a little more upbeat than Bon Iver in places, Early In The Morning displays a wide range of folk tinged songs from the beautifully poignant We Don’t Eat to the driving rhythms of Sparrow & the Wolf.
