Meet Karen Carr, Intern Leader

I moved around a lot as a kid (seeing new places…meeting new people…), and I loved it! I also grew up in the church and couldn’t wait to make that first international trip. Once I did, I was hooked!

My experiences and education have been in areas of service, administration, and leadership. When I see a need, I love making connections of relationships and resources to help meet that need. Working with the Convoy of Hope intern teams keeps this desire alive, and it makes my heart glad to see people working in areas that make them thrive. And I look forward to viewing our encounters together through fresh perspectives and personalities.

I’ve been working with Convoy of Hope since 2008. If you were to ask what my “normal” day looks like, it would be difficult for me to give a short answer. It may include a little bit of office work, a little bit of community outreach, a little bit of fund raising, a little bit of disaster response, a little bit of hands-on, but definitely a whole lot of variety! That’s what makes life interesting.

I want to live life “at the ready” so that I am prepared for the next adventure God has for me. My prayer is that I remain faithful and obedient to my calling to minister to those who are hurting all over the world. I want to make the most of every opportunity, and my motto is, “Sign me up!”

Note: Karen helped lead our fall 2008 interns to Moldova, Armenia and Georgia, our spring 2009 interns to Haiti and El Salvador, our fall 2009 interns to Moldova, our fall 2010 interns to Kenya, our spring 2011 interns to the Philippines, and our spring 2012 interns to the Philippines.
