I forget, are there one or two more films based on the single book?
When they they first announced the possibility of a Hobbit film, it was uncertain if Peter Jackson was going to be involved. At the time I threw a fit, demanding (from random people with no control over these things) that Jackson be the man to lead the project.
The moral of the story: Be careful what you wish for.
