"Aspiring to be happy is the root of many people’s unhappiness. So consumed with what isn’t, they fail to see what is. I don’t think happiness is something to aspire to. The western world is fixated on it and it’s doing more harm than good. Happiness is far too fleeting to make it a permanent goal. The framers of the declaration of independence showed wisdom when they made the pursuit of happiness not the attainment an unalienable right. The framers understood something that most refuse to. The beauty of a thing is not in its attainment, but in the pursuit. Love, happiness, joy, fulfillment, the beauty is in the journey towards attaining these things and not necessarily in their possession. - Christiana Mbakwe"
