Life Lately

  • I had my first doula interview on Monday! It went really well, but (ironically enough) someone from my training class interviewed with her too and the client went with her because she charged less… boo. I thought my price was really reasonable, but you can’t beat (almost) free.
  • I put a lot of work into all of my paperwork, my contract, client folders,  making everything look professional, etc, so it was kind of a let down that it seemed to be all for nothing. At least it was good practice and I have everything ready for the next interview!
  • I’ve developed carpal tunnel, so I can’t be on the computer much and using my phone to scroll through Tumblr or Facebook for more than 5 minutes is a big no no. So I’m feeling a little disconnected from everything. I hope I haven’t missed any big or exciting news…
  • I’m back to work in a week and a half. The thought is a little depressing, but I’m ready to just go back already and get it over with. I hate being in this limbo and I want to settle in to our new “normal”.

Day 1 of no school

Spent the weekend writing up a schedule to keep my sanity while I’m working from home. It’s (kind of) working. I did want to kick them out of the house between 11-12 and they whined through chores, but at least they napped. That’s a miracle! Here’s hoping that they stay quiet for my 3:30 conference call…

All restaurants and bars were closed today, not that we’ve been going out anyway. Husband still has to go to work. We’ve been going for long walks after dinner or riding bikes to get exercise, hopefully it doesn’t come down to a full quarantine where we can’t leave the house! I’ll probably attempt to go to the grocery store again on Friday to see what’s out there that we can stock up on.

I realize that I haven’t posted on here in awhile… I always say that I’m going to get back into blogging, and maybe I will, but I’ve just been so busy. The truth is, I’m not ready to let this go yet because I TRULY want to record memories of my kids. I’m so happy that I blogged throughout their baby/toddler years, and I want to continue.

Anyway… I thought I would share the girls’ school pictures from this year. The left is Emberly (Kindergarten) and the right is Cambria (Preschool). Not sure what face Cam is making there but that’s part of the fun, right?
