14 months!
(And this time it’s only a few days before she turns 15 months… I’m getting there)
My sunshine, you are always so happy! Rarely are you ever grumpy, unless you are waking up. Just like your mother, you loathe waking up. Bows don’t stand a chance in your hair anymore. Whenever you are hungry you ask for “cheese”. You say “boobies” when you want to nurse. You say “please”, “thank you”, and you wipe your feet on the doormat before you step inside. How did I get so lucky?
Eating: Still going strong with nursing (not that she would ever allow us to stop). Still a great eater! Emberly usually at least tries everything that I set on her plate, and she pushes it away and says “all done” when she is full.
Sleeping: Still not sleeping through the night. She also officially dropped her morning nap and is down to one nap a day for about 2 -2 ½ hours.
Teeth: 16 teeth! Hopefully this will end soon so we can get some sleep
New Developments:
Beginning to understand how a fork & spoon work. She can sometimes stab food with the fork and get it to her mouth. Mostly, she prefers holding the utensil and then eating with her other hand.
Holding crayons and coloring. We’ve given her crayons before, but recently she has actually started wanting to color and points to ask for the different colors.

Emberly can now point to eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks, chin, ears, teeth, tummy, belly button, arm, hand, toes, and my glasses. And name them all!
And I forgot to mention… around 13 ½ months I decided to stop using a bottle. She only had one before bed every night, but I was terrified that it would be a huge fight. All I did was replace the bottle with a straw sippy cup and we went about our usual routine. That’s it. Done. Voila! We never looked back and it was way easier than I expected.
