Jazz pianist Max Holm began studying classical violin at age 6. When, at age 14, he heard Keith Jarrett, he switched instruments and genres.
A graduating high school senior, Max has received about $300,000 in college scholarship offers, and has accepted a prestigious Fellowship at the Brubeck Institute, where he will tour the world as part of the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet. Only five musicians in the world are chosen for this Fellowship.
Holm received the 2014 Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington Competition Outstanding Soloist Award, was the only US high school student ever awarded the 2015 Jazz Education Network Founders Scholarship (only college students have previously received it), and was the only pianist in the country chosen for the 2014 Jazz Band of America.
The Max Holm Quartet opened the 1st annual Miami Beach Jazz Festival at the Fillmore in 2013. In 2014 Max opened for Jazz Master Benny Golson, with the UCF Jazztet at the UCF-Orlando Jazz Festival. Max has performed at many jazz festivals across the country, and is scheduled to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival in September 2015.
Max has performed with many greats, including Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Kirk Whalum, Ira Sullivan and Robin Eubanks, among others.
As a member of Utah’s Crescent Super Band, he has played arena shows to 19,000 persons. He's currently recording his piano tracks on multi-Grammy award-winning Jeff Coffin’s next album.
Max also composes music for videos, commercials & soundtracks. Book him by calling/texting (801) 436-7460 or emailing Holm (dot) Max @ Gmail (dot) com
