NYC Summer Restaurant Week is a 20 day long event where select restaurants all over New York serve prix-fixe 3 course lunch or dinner menus. I’ve participated in a few restaurant weeks throughout the years and there have been a few hits and a few misses.

My first stop was at La Mar Cebicheria, a Peruvian restaurant located in the Flatiron district.  Unfortunately, La Mar was a miss. The chef must have a heavy hand on the salt shaker as almost every dish was overly salty. Service also moved at the speed of a snail. We waited for the menu, waited for our orders to be taken, waited for everything else. I did like the ceviche and I’ll consider coming back to La Mar for their ceviche only because I don’t like it at El Marino.
