Dynamic Africa is looking to expand and create a more vibrant voice and presence. We’re currently looking to grow by adding contributors based around the world who are able provide fresh, exciting and original content. We’re looking for writers who are passionate about African & Afrodiosporan pop culture, from art and entertainment to politics and beyond. People who are socially conscious, have a pulse on emerging stories and an awareness of topical issues, and are, importantly, culturally sensitive in how they engage with readers through their writing.
Contributors and writers will have the opportunity to pitch stories, hone their writing and journalism skills, attend events as press on behalf of Dynamic Africa, and be part of a dynamic team of emerging African and diasporan writers.
Photographers are also welcome to add themselves to our roster for press access at events on behalf of Dynamic Africa.

We’re looking for writers to cover these genre topics:
- Art, Film, Music, Entertainment, Current Events, Pop Culture, Social Issues, etc.
- Writers/photographers can be based anywhere
- Must be knowledgeable of Dynamic Africa’s content and style
- Well informed on African (and diasporan) current affairs and/or pop culture
- Should have a good grasp of social media
- Reliable and committed
- Previous writing experience a bonus
- Attend events as press on behalf Dynamic Africa, depending on location
All you need is internet access and an eagerness to be part of this team. How often you contribute and the stories you chose to write about are up to you.
If interested, please email two writing samples (between 250-500 words) to Funke at dynamicafricablog@gmail.com. Please specific if you would like to be classified as a general writer (open to multiple genre topics) or the category/categories you are keen on. Also include your location and how often you will be able to contribute (i.e. bi-weekly, once a week, fortnightly, once a month, whenever you’re capable).
