To the minor extent that Vincent Gallo’s directorial debut has a plot, it involves his character, Billy, seeking revenge on the Buffalo Bills placekicker whose missed field-goal attempt ostensibly ruined Billy’s life. Near the end of the film, Billy finally shows up at the strip club owned by the retired player, gun in hand. Rather than accompany this surreally staged, grotesquely violent scene with music that might actually be heard in a strip club, or even music that would conventionally heighten the intensity of a shootout, Gallo chooses—yes!—Yes. Not only does the track’s sinuous groove provide plenty of offbeat tension as Billy walks in, it thrillingly shifts into high gear at the precise moment that he spots his victim. Congratulations to Director William H. Macy and the entire Rudderless cast and crew!

Not surprisingly, the best part of Rudderless is the music (composed by Simon Steadman and Charlton Pettus). Six songs play throughout the film, each one with its own distinct hook. From Sam’s first solo performance, which is notably personal and heartfelt, to the lighter, more upbeat rock songs that dominate the second half, there’s a broad range of music here that gets explored under the folk rock umbrella. The soundtrack is so resonant in fact that it sometimes overshadows the main storyline, although never to the film’s detriment. On the contrary, it actually elevates scenes that might otherwise be less impactful. In terms of story, the songs also mark emotional touchstones for Sam, whose journey often aligns with the music. – Max Nicholson IGN

Lakeshore Records is pleased to release the soundtracks to Dawn Patrol, a new thriller starring Scott Eastwood (Trouble with the Curve, Fury), Rita Wilson (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, It’s Complicated) and Jeff Fahey (Machete, TV’s Lost, Grindhouse).  The soundtracks will include a score album featuring music by Composer Joe Kraemer (Jack Reacher, The Way of the Gun) and a separate soundtrack album.  Previously, Joe Kraemer’s song (with Mark Pellington), “Patience’s Miracle,” appears in Lakeshore’s Henry Poole Is Here score album.  Kraemer is slated to score for Mission: Impossible 5 (2015), amongst other projects.

Daniel Petrie Jr. (Beverly Hills Cop I, II & III, The Big Easy, Toy Soldiers) directs Dawn Patrol: A surfer-turned-Marine held at gunpoint in a distant desert tells his tragic story of revenge gone wrong to stall his execution.  The film has screened at Cannes and will premiere at Austin Film Festival on October 25.  Dawn Patrol is expected to release in mid-2015.  Stay tuned for more soundtrack details!

About Composer Ramin Kousha:
Ramin Kousha is an Iranian-American film composer, who has scored over 30 feature and short films. He is a classically-trained composer who received his Bachelor ‘s degree in Music composition from California State University, Northridge in 2012.

Previous projects include: the documentary VICTOR WALK directed by Michael David Lynch, ABSTRACTION directed by Prince Bagdasarian starring Eric Roberts, Ken Davitian and Korrina Rico, the thriller FIVE THIRTEEN directed by Kader Ayd starring Tom Sizemore and Danny Trejo, and action-packed film PIZZA MAN co-scored with Nima Fakhrara, directed by Joe Eckardt, starring Frankie Muniz and Shelley Long.

About Sharknado 2: The Second One
Co-Composers Chris Ridenhour and Christopher Cano

Chris Ridenhour is an LA-based film/TV composer known for his lush colorful, melodic orchestral action scores.  His work can be heard on Syfy, Lifetime, STARZ, Showtime and The Asylum. After studying music composition and piano performance at Shenandoah University with William Averitt and Eugenia Evans, Chris moved to Los Angeles to assist his mentor, film composer Todd Hayen.  After having worked on such scores as RUSH HOUR and OCTOBER SKY, Chris later formed the band The Divine Madness with his friends, composers Christopher Cano and Eliza Swenson.  Later in 2008 Chris became the in-house composer at the Global Asylum and has to date scored over 80 films in every genre.

A Los Angeles native, Christopher Cano studied music composition at Cal State Northridge before pursuing success as a songwriter with bands including The Mansions and The Divine Madness.  Since 2009 Christopher has worked on over 60 films spanning every genre from teen comedy to horror, and has developed a particular fondness for films involving sharks and bizarre weather patterns.
