Nova Pilbeam, English star of Alfred Hitchcock’s original The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934) and Young and Innocent (1937), has died at age 95. Hitchcock had wanted her for the lead in Rebecca (1940), but obviously that part went to someone else.

The Alfred Hitchcock classic “Vertigo” (which starred Miss Novak) was also referenced in the Lady Gaga song “Bad Romance”, which contains the lyrics: “I want your psycho, your vertigo shtick, want you in my rear window, baby you’re sick, I want your love…”
