Going through some of the projects I shot in the last couple of years. This one is a fun one. We were hired by advertising agency DDB and Canadian Tourism Commission to shoot a tourism project in Southern Ontario. It was 7 fun but exhausting days. Really hot and humid weather! So this shot was taken in our second last location, in a list of probably 30 for the 7 days. Our small and tight knit crew was hitting a wall at that point, but this jetboat ride near Niagara Falls really picked us up. We sort of decided to do this shot on a whim. I picked up a little Olympus water proof camera in a strip mall on the way. I could barely hold on to the boat when it’s going at 80km/hr, but I knew exactly what I wanted to capture. The results are some of my favourite images of the whole shoot. All on a little $200 point and shoot, despite having a whole car full of gear.
I think it’s a good reminder for myself of what makes good photos a lot of time. Just be there, be present, and work with really fun people! This is to our crew last summer. Thank you. I am a lucky guy to have worked with you guys!
