Top 3 Spring Polishes for Spring
by Ali
If I owned a proper calendar, it would probably tell me that meteorological spring started in the Northern Hemisphere almost a week ago. I’d be more than happy to go along with that, only there was snow on the ground when I woke up yesterday morning. But just because spring hasn’t really sprung everywhere just yet doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate from the warm confines of indoors! Spring usually brings to mind everything pastel, but who wants their hands to look like a dish of Jordan almonds? Plus, if you’re anything like me, “radiant orchid” is a color that can’t be retired soon enough. So, I present you my top three nail colors for Spring- and don’t worry, these won’t have you looking like you’re on your way to an Easter egg hunt!
Butter London All Hail The Queen - $15
This is the new neutral to kick all your drab, grey, wintery taupes and beiges to curb! While it may look light and delicate in the bottle, it becomes a universally flattering nude on the nail. Plus, it’s got some killer, warm glitter to it- not enough to be a holo polish, but close! It’s also one of those rare polishes that’s incredibly flattering- a quick Google search will show you that ladies of every color can pull this off and are loving it all around the world. What are you waiting for??
Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream - $20
Not all of us are lucky enough to live where it’s every season is beach season, but that doesn’t mean we have to pout while we wait for summer to roll around! Deborah Lippmann’s Mermaid polishes are the perfect accessory for your springtime mermaid day dreams! Mermaid’s Dream is my personal favorite because the green-blue color reminds me a bit of seafoam! The dynamic, metallic base color is entrancing, but it’s the flecks of blue glitter and all over shimmer that really make this color to-die-for this Spring. If you want people to notice your nails, once everyone comes out of hibernation, then this is really the color for you.
Sally Hansen Triple Shine Make Waves - $5
If Mermaid’s Dream is too busy for you but you still want an eye catching but seasonal color, I strongly recommend that you check out Make Waves. Not only is the formula incredible- I was so blown away I went and snagged a few more bottles from the line -but it’s one of the most versatile duochrome polishes I’ve seen. In the bottle it looks like a metallic blue, and might veer a little blue-green during application, but when you wear it out and about? It goes from blue to green to purple to even grey! It’s far from neutral, but you don’t have to be concerned about your nails clashing with your outfit when you’ve got it on! If you’re falling hard for the futuristic metallic accessories trend, stock up on this before it’s too late.
