mini haul and reviews: acne treatments and serum

haul

Hello again everyone~ Here’s another one of my mini hauls from Sasa, where I purchase some of my Asian skincare. My skin has been acting up a lot lately, so I’m trying a couple new things in my skincare routine to see if I help my skin return to some type of equilibrium. Please continue reading and see the item names and my thoughts! (Note: Because I am slow at posting reviews, I am not using the acne products mentioned in this mini haul after meeting with my dermatologist at a later time.)

  • Yanwaili Anti-Blemish Brightening Essence (link): I decided to try this because I bought the cleanser from this line on a whim and loved it, and I was hoping for a good result from this as well. It is supposed to be used morning and night on the places that have breakouts and visible pimples, and in using it for a couple weeks, I must say that it dries out pimples (especially whiteheads) very well. It’s also supposed to “reduce redness and reduce the appearance of spots and marks,” and I must say that it does reduce redness. With that said, I have only been using it for two weeks at night, so I cannot comment on the reducing of existing spots and marks. At $6.70 for 30 ml or product, with half a pump of product to cover breakouts, it’s a great deal and I recommend it for people with oily skin that have problems with acne. Unfortunately, it does contain parabens, so I do not think I will be repurchasing unless it completely changes my face.
  • Yanwaili Anti-Blemish Brightening Lotion (link): I purchased this because I wanted to try something new from the same line, and I wanted to change my daytime moisturizer to see if it was my moisturizer breaking me out (note: It wasn’t. I still have no idea what in the world is making me break out). The consistency of this product is between a gel and a lotion which makes the skin very matte (almost to the point of dryness) and a bit sticky. I was going to stop using this product completely because I could not incorporate it into my daily skincare routine, until I began to use it only a night on a rotational basis with the essence. In other words, I use the essence on one night and the lotion on the next night, and I never use the two products together. As with the essence, the lotion is also supposed to control oil, reduce redness and the appearance of breakouts, which it does in conjunction with the essence (and perhaps the cleanser). The packaging of the lotion is something that I am not fond of, because there is no pump and I have to shake the bottle a couple times to get the lotion to come out. I tentative recommend this product with a few reservations: it dries out the skin used with any other acne product, the residue on the skin when used alone is slightly sticky, and it contains parabens. On the other hand, my blemishes have gone down considerably, and used at night with a moisturizing product afterwards, it feels a lot better on the skin.
  • Naruko Basic Rosehip Perfecting Elixir (link): I bought my first Naruko product!! And I must say that I love this elixir for a couple of reasons. First, the smell is amazing, which is lightly of roses. I’m currently using this as a nighttime moisturizer after my topical acne treatments, and I wake up with refreshed, supple skin that’s not dried out from my acne medications. The only downside of this product is that it comes in a tiny 10 ml bottle, but I only need two to three drops to cover my whole face, so it should last a while. Going to order two backups soon. Completely recommended!
  • Suzuran Attirer Puff (120 sheets) (link):When I placed the Sasa order, I knew that by the time the package got to me, I would be out of cotton pads, so I ordered these. They are really soft and thick for when I take off my makeup with my makeup removal oil. They are not anything extraordinary, but for less than two dollars for 120 sheets, I would say that they are a good buy.

And that’s about it! As always, if you would like any additional pictures of the products mentioned, don’t hesitate to ask. Follow us on twitter if you have not already! o/
