Hello loves! Here’s a mini review of the December Glossybox that Glossybox was nice enough to send to us. Glossybox is a beauty subscription service that sends you a box of five deluxe beauty samples each month for $21/month. There are other subscription plans on their site, so if you’re interested, definitely check it out!

Here’s what was included in my box and my impressions of them.

  • Lierac Gommage Sensoriel: This product is a exfoliator with tangible sugar crystals for an intense exfoliating experience. It smells strongly of flowers, so for people whose skin is either 1) sensitive to harsh exfoliants and 2) sensitive to fragrance, steer far away. However, the product is very moisturizing and leaves the skin feeling smooth and tingly.
  • Skin&Co Roma Truffle Serum Hydro-Toning Day Face Serum: This is my favorite sample from the Glossybox - it’s a clear, gel consistency serum that sinks into the skin almost immediately and leaves the skin hydrated and plump. It has a strong fragrance that reminds me coconuts, so again if you’re sensitive to fragrance, would not recommend.
  • NuMe Argan Oil: This product is a blend of argan oil and Vitamin E and can be used on both the hair and skin for a boost of moisture and shine. It’s…good oil, nothing spectacular. On my natural hair it did make it a tad bit more shiny  and easier to manage, and I didn’t try it on my skin yet.
  • Perfumies Solid Perume Stick: For our cruelty-free followers, this product will be right up your alley - the product has “an all natural base, no preservatives, paraben-free and never tested on animals.” It’s a portable perfume stick that makes traveling with perfume easy and with less mess. The one I receive smells strongly of flowers, but when applied on the skin, blends in nicely and fades to a light scent that lasts for hours. I feel like this is a scent I would use during interviews; it’s light and refreshing, not childlike and not overwhelming.
  • Illamasqua Lip & Eye Medium Pencil in Forced: Unfortunate that I feel uncomfortable using their products right now, because I swatched it and it doesn’t move. Forced is a medium gray matte pencil.

Overall recommendation: I like the idea of Glossybox for introducing me to brands and products I haven’t heard of before, and the overall value of the box is amazing. It would make a great gift for someone who likes beauty and is looking for something different. However, personally, I don’t think I would subscribe to a beauty subscription service simply because I’m not interested enough in to spend 21 dollars each month.
