本作品の大きなトピックの1つとして、戦隊シリーズの伝統となっていた「フィルム撮影」「オールアフレコ」という2つの撮影方式が廃止されたことが挙げられる[11]。シリーズで長年使われた16mmフィルムカメラに代わり、「レッド・ワン」という特殊なデジタル・ビデオカメラを本作品で初めて採用。これによりフィルム時代の撮影機材やノウハウをそのまま流用しながら、ビデオ撮影に転換することに成功する。
