Life has an interesting way of working.

Sometimes when a door is slammed in your face, it makes you walk the dark, cold hallway alone for days, months, or even years, before you find another open door. It’s a test of how badly you want another door to open. Are you willing to keep walking until you find that open door, never knowing if there will actually be another one open for you, or are you going to break down in the middle of the hall and disintegrate in to a sloppy mess of tears and give up on finding that new life path?

With that said, sometimes life also will offer up an alternate exit elsewhere. You may have shown up in search of that majestic doorway, but when it is shut & sealed off from you and you’re standing alone in that hall, you may turn and find a window that you forgot you propped open many months ago that gives you a different way out. Sure, it may not be what you were looking for right now, but it’s yet another path to a different area that you had searched for before, and now seems to be the right time to go after it.

So if you find a door getting slammed in your face, don’t question much. If you think an opportunity is worth pursuing, keep going after it. If you find yourself in front of a different opportunity that may not be what you were looking for, don’t leave it alone. Take it, run with it, and see where it leads.
