Metro Execs Make Millions While DC Riders Suffer Rising Costs

I am terribly disturbed by this news!!! Why do people have to make this much money??? It’s absolutely ridiculous. When I think about my upbringing and the upbringing of most middle class people who lived great, productive lives, with no real struggle, kids went to college, etc. These people did not make $350,000 per year. It’s just ridiculous. And these salaries are set to feed a lifestyle. The GM of Metro makes $350K and probably doesn’t even ride metro. His wife probably is a stay at home mom with some live-in African or Caribbean or Latino nanny who takes care of her kids while she starts a “business” and luxuriates with the other wives at the country club. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves. Though unemployment rates are going down, it’s still a mess. Gas prices are going up, so folks are thinking they can hop on Metro for something cheaper and it’s not! And this new stupid way they’re splitting the Smartrip card money from the parking money is ridiculous and just another way to ROB people of their money. If there’s such a deficit why don’t they get their salaries cut???? So, they’ll golf less and have to give up that BMW for a Corolla, so what! Wouldn’t that make more sense? If collectively these salaries were over $3 million and the deficit is $116 million, maybe giving up some of this executive money is what needs to be done.
