Show: Paul Banks at Slims (Saturday, 12/1, 8pm)

The INTERPOL frontman has just released his second solo album and is heading to Slims this weekend. In case you don’t already have enough options for Saturday (Bay Brewed, Neck of the Woods) Banks (@bankspaulbanks) sounds like a fitting event as the dark of winter officially hits the city by the bay. The new album doesn’t stray from the core of INTERPOL’s dark humor tinged songwriting or overall sonic atmosphere. Of course, the major change is the lack of consistent gloom of the main bands records ensured by drummer Sam Fogarino and former groove-master Carlos Dengler. Some tracks carry some 80’s dark synth lines and an overall block of syncopated drumming stretching what many will want the album to be…Interpol. However, any semi-fan will find some enjoyment amongst the ten new songs (Try The Base, Young Again, Summertime Is Coming). Check out the video for Young Again above / Info and Tickets HERE.
