I live with a boy who is borderline obsessed with Hemingway. He named our car after him. I don’t go along with it.
Our bookshelves are filled with his letters, biographies, novels, collections and short stories (sadly not his journalism, we’re working on it).
We agree on the fact Hemingway’s life was in many cases more interesting than his books.
Although A Moveable Feast is stunning (except for the racing chapters).
But I recently finished A Farewell To Arms and it made me so angry.
I already couldn’t forgive Hem for cheating on Hadley and for his hunting travels, and now I am seriously hacked off about what he did to Catherine Barkley. Why did he do it?
The man is utterly infuriating and utterly inescapable.
