Imagine again that you are seated at a bridge table with the mandalic cube before you in our standardized initial position. What you see facing you is Face 1 as seen here.
This time, instead of looking at Face 1 opposite you, focus your attention downward upon the face of the cube directed toward the ceiling. This face we will label Face 3. It is the face seen in the image above. The z=-1 line is closest to you and the z=+1 line furthest away.
Note that here the orientation of the x-number line is again positive to the left, negative to the right. But we know now this is not written in stone. It is just a matter of perspective. As so eloquently expounded by Einstein in his Special Theory of Relativity, space and time are not absolutes but are relative to the observer. Your bridge partner opposite you at the table sees the same hexagrams but in a different spatial configuration. What s/he sees can be found in the following post.
