Just look at his face. He looks utterly terrified, yet he still continues to stand there in the hope that she loves him back. He’s worried out of his mind because he’s done this crazy and almost thoughtless thing and he’s scared to death that he’s just embarassed himself in front of all of those people, and especially in front of her. He just stares at her, because her reply is the only thing he needs to hear. He doesn’t even look once at his girlfriend, or her fiancee, or the fifty or however many guests are there, he just looks at her, because she’s all that matters in that moment. It’s scary, and it’s reckless, and it’s burning his life to the ground, but he does it anyway. He’s risking ridicule for standing up for what he wants, and he’s petrified, and terrified, and emotionally preparing for the fact that she may not love him. But he loves her, and he needs her to still love him back because otherwise he’s not sure what to do. He’s relying on her answer, and he’s praying to god that it’ll be what he wants, what he needs, to hear. So, he stands tall and swallows a breath and hopes with all his might that she still loves him, because otherwise he just might break.
