Anana - Manierism

Anana’s latest track up for offer goes by the name of “Manierism”, as the Norwegian artist by the name of Anniken Jess Iversen recalls “Maniera”, the art movement better known as mannerism. The slow and spacious track which appears in its raw and unmastered format, was recorded last year and originally supposed to appear on Anana’s upcoming album, but didn’t fit the feel of the record. “It’s a song about frustration, basically - to be really angry at someone”, laughs Iversen. Haunting echoes creep through the heavy reverb of the track, before the bass drops, arpeggios roll in and Anniken’s oceanic coos and cries top off the beautifully sinister “Manierism”. Anyway, if this latest track is just a demo then we must say then the record must be something else.
