Brazilian Blowout Experience

My hair, despite all the bleach jobs it went through, can still appear healthy even without using any styling tools but it’s better if I do because the ends give away the illusion. Now, I’m quite blessed that I was given such strong hair but that doesn’t mean I should constantly push my crowning glory to the limit. After several bleach jobs, my hair is just thirsty for an intense TLC.

So despite the lack of funds, I took the plunge and had my first ever and definitely certified Brazilian Blowout treatment at Envy Me Salon. It’s my first time to avail a service in their salon, and given how meticulous I am with my hair, I’m glad that they’re knowledgeable with what they’re selling.

The Process

The first thing they did was shampoo my hair to remove any dirt and residue. This is to help my hair receive optimal smoothing result. Then they started dividing my hair into sections and applied the treatment from root to tip. Once they’re done, they let the solution be saturated to my hair for 15 minutes.

The next thing they did was blow-dry my hair without rinsing the treatment off. There was no visible steam or smoke but the product did sting my eyes. :(

Then they straightened my hair using an iron to further seal the product in. During this time, I wondered what’s the difference between the blow dry and hair iron. So I’ve touched both areas, and the iron made my hair look shinier and it really did felt smooth and softer. For a split second, I really felt like I was one of those hair models on TV!

At this point, they were supposed to rinse my hair and apply a 60-second masque to further seal the treatment but I said I had to leave for an appointment. The stylist said it was okay, and just recommended that I wash my hair the next day instead. They did, however, applied the smoothing serum to detangle and add shine to my hair prior to the final blow-dry. :)

It’s been almost a week since I had my treatment and I’ve got to say that my hair did improve a bit. First of all, it was so much easier to detangle my hair! And my hair is sooooo softer now. :) I highly recommend this kind of treatment to anyone who needs to pamper their crowning glory!

Things To Know

The difference between a Keratin treatment and a Brazilian Blowout are the procedure and products being used. I honestly prefer Keratherapy than iCure for keratin treatments, because I think Keratherapy is safer and ideal for girls with curly hair. (Google iCure Keratin and you can barely find any information, just links to deal sites!).

A Brazilian Blowout is smoothing hair treatment. It will straighten your hair for a couple of weeks or months only, depending on how you take good care of it. If you’re interested in getting a Brazilian Blowout, check if your salon or stylist is certified. The should be using the Acai Professional Line (bronze color bottle) and not iCure or Keratherapy. And the procedure should follow what’s stated on Brazilian Blowout website.

Envy Me Salon is located at the 3/F West Wing of Robinson’s Galleria. If you’re interested to get a treatment, please call them at (02) 576 4716
