The holiday season is a busy time of year and there is a lot of running around to be done.  We go from work, to the mall, to a party and do not always have time to change up our makeup look in between. Wearing a bold lip is a great and easy way to keep you looking fresh and trendy while running around this holiday season!

Hot Holiday Make-up Tip #4

Although wearing red is a great way to rock a bold lip, try switching it up this season and rock a hot pink, a holly berry red or my new personal favorite, a deep berry/wine color.

1-      Before applying your lipstick you want to make sure that your lips are properly hydrated.  This helps to ensure that you get even coverage of color.  When your lips are dry, lipstick tends to look dark or blotchy in those areas.

Prior to lipstick application, moisturize your lips with a good hydrating lip balm and let it settle in.  After a few minutes, remove any excess product that still may be on your lips by blotting your lips with a tissue.  You want to your lips to by hydrated but not greasy before you start.  Note: Do not rub your lips to remove excess product as this may cause your lips peel.

2-      Next line your lips with a color that is similar to the shade of lipstick that you choose.  One of the hardest parts about wearing a bold lip is that it can look messy if it seeps into the outer edges of your lips and it is hard to correct once that happens.  So this step is very important because it helps to prevent your lipstick from bleeding and also helps it to last longer!

3-      You than want to fill in your lips with the lip liner.  This gives the lipstick something to adhere to which will also make you lipstick last longer.

4-      Now apply your chosen lipstick.  When doing do make sure to apply it just slightly inside the edges of your lips.  Going past the edges and over the liner will cause your lipstick to bleed.

5-      Touch up when necessary.

It is as easy as that!  Now remember that when wearing a bold lip, you allow that

to be the focal point of your makeup look and let the rest be simple.  Do not wear

a dramatic eye or cheek as you will look over-done.  This is a great look to pair

with Holiday Make-Up Look #2- Dewy Skin! (This can be found on my facebook

page)

Hope this helps to ease your holiday madness!  As always, let me know if you

have any questions!  Happy Holidays!
